Desert Cities

Greetings from the Desert Cities Church of Christ,

"You are the light of the world…let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14,16

In view of global and local concern regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, it is important that as Christians we speak and act in faith, trust, and love as bright lights in our community. After consultation with LA Church leadership, local medical professionals, and in line with the California Department of Heath Gathering Guidance we have transitioned our Sunday worship and midweek services online, effective immediately, until further notice.

Our Sunday services will be at 10am at our social media sites: Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. Wednesday meetings will be by small groups.

For the offering, we are encouraging everyone to give online, and to remain faithful in giving throughout this time, as you are able. You can do so through the app (IEChurch), by texing ((“IEDC” to 77977) or at our website (

We would encourage you to visit the CDC website and California Department of Health to keep yourself updated on the current situation and to receive more information on best practices to protect yourself and those around you.

We want to all the believers to  continue to be faithful in the following ways:

  • Prayer (James 5:16) The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing and that prayers of righteous people are powerful and effective. Let’s be praying for health and protection, wisdom of our state and local leaders, and for God to move in uniquely powerful ways as we meet together in small groups.
  • Take care of each other (Galatians 6:10) Let’s be on the lookout for how we can love one another in the body of Christ as well as those in our communities.
  • New ways of outreach (Mark 1:17) God has something interesting in store for the bigger picture of our church and our local community. Let’s not miss opportunities to share the good news with those around us.
  • Fellowship (Hebrews 10:24-25) At a time when the disciples were under intense persecution and not meeting in large groups, the Hebrew writer encouraged them to not give up meeting together. The fellowship and being together in small groups is still an important part of encouraging our faith and moving forward in unity.
  • Giving (2 Corinthians 8:6-7) We want to thank you for your generosity and consistency in giving overall. We would like to encourage everyone who is not giving online to do so for the time being.

We look forward to hearing how God is working during this time.  If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The Desert Cities Church Leadership

Welcome to the Desert Cities Church of Christ website! We are a non-denominational Bible-based church located in the heart of the Coachella Valley in Southern California. Our service times are as follows: Sunday service: 4:00 pm Wednesday Mid-week service: 7:00 pm Other meetings are listed in our weekly newsletter or on our website. We serve throughout the Coachella Valley and surrounding areas. Come join us, we would love to meet you!

Scott and Danielle have served in the full-time ministry for over 25 years. Scott grew up in South Florida and graduated with a BA in Sociology and played football while attending Harvard University. Danielle was raised in Southern CA, and even spent some of her childhood in the Coachella Valley, before graduating from Boston College with a BA in Communications. After serving for several years in campus ministry in Boston, Scott and Danielle planted our sister church in Burlington, VT where they were married in 1996. Since then they have graduated from the New England School of Ministry and served in our churches in Hartford, CT and Orange County, CA before moving to the Desert Cities Church of Christ in 2014. They love the closeness of the church here, and are inspired to teach others to live out their dreams by living for God!
